Perelandra Pictures is hiring screenwriters for REAL AMERICAN, a female-led sci-fi web series going into production later this year.

Set in an alternate version of Earth where humanoid refugees from another planet live among us, Real American is about a young woman wrestling with her identity while hiding who she really is.

We are seeking to build a small team of writers with diverse voices who can write from experience about what it’s like to be an outsider who feels unheard and understands little about their heritage. The ideal candidate is excited about collaboration, comes to the table prepared with ideas, is open to criticism, values revision, loves sci-fi, can find creative solutions on a small budget, writes quickly, and meets deadlines.

• Must be available for a weekend-long writing retreat in Grand Rapids, MI date TBD.

• Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish not required but definitely a plus
